A family friend is looking at homes in Bergen County. A top consideration is the quality of boys hs tennis program as the son who is currently in the 7th grade is quite the player I'm told. Proximity to tennis instructors and academies would be good too. Despite being a Bergenite, this is a topic I know very little about, so any insights anyone here has on towns/schools would be appreciated.

Thank you.

This is the final rankings for 2014. These schools, for the most part, are perennial powers.

BERGEN
1-Fair Lawn (20-3)
2-Northern Highlands (20-2) - Allendale
3-Demarest (19-2)
4-Dwight-Englewood (20-2)
5-Tenafly (14-4)
6-Ridgewood (15-5)
7-Don Bosco Prep (17-1) - Ramsey
8-Saddle River Day (13-3)
9-Bergen Tech (14-3)
10-Old Tappan (10-7)

You're welcome. Note that Dwight-Englewood, Don Bosco and SR Day are prep schools so they can live anywhere. Bergen Tech is a free public magnet school with tough admissions standards for Bergen County kids that are smart enough to get in.

I'd also throw Ramapo HS (Franklin Lakes/Wyckoff/Oakland) on that list. Other outliers are Park Ridge, Glen Rock, Pascack Hills, Pascack Valley - ie. the perceived "wealthier" towns.

I played 1st singles back in the day and these rankings/schools seem to never change.
