And half of that 45% don't have any income, there's nothing to tax. The other half don't make more than $10,000 a year.

So they are paying their equal share. I mean, you want to tax 100% of $0? Go ahead.

See, because we kind of have a problem with taxes working like that now and the US is in a lot of debt, so I'm not sure extending that down to all the states and towns is the best idea.
yeah, im saying you dont pay more based on things that have nothing to do with the amount of services that you use.

the US is in a lot of debt because it is allowed to take on unlimited debt and nobody bribes politicians to cut their spending. the situation isnt really comparable to your local municipality and its property taxes.
