Hey, I was in your neck of the woods yesterday, Ivan Putski. Funeral in Wyckoff, then visited mother in Midland Park.

He's getting a steak at Texas Roadhouse before he has to resort to peanut butter and jelly for the next few days.

Our idea of a town plow is a DPW pickup that's converted with a shovel on the front. The only way we got out last time when we had about 30 inches the day after Christmas a few years back was when my neighbor carjacked a front end loader from the paving company where he worked.
That's being a good neighbor!

My employer is open tomorrow, so unless there is a foot of snow overnight I have to go to work !

I really want my weekend to continue though.

Just let the dog out to a couple of inches of light but steadily falling snow. No word from work yet-I just hope they let us out early. I do 36 miles/one hour each way on Route 31. This kind of weather can easily make it two and a half Mom and kids are snoozing, fire in the wood furnace is cranked up...wish I was staying home today!

Mountain people are always prepared. Last I checked we were in the 10-18 range though-that's enough to FUBAR the roads for a while around here.

The NWS Mount Holly posted on their Facebook page that they have downgraded the forecasted snow totals, so hopefully we won't get the 2 feet as originally predicted. 18 inches still sucks though.
