Hi Everyone,
I'm moving to JC Heights (around Palisade and Fleet) soon, and I work in New York. I was wondering what would be the best way for me to commute to NY. I tried walking from Journal Square Path and it took me only about 15 minutes. If I work late, Id rather avoid doing the walk during late hours. I know there are buses on Palisade Ave that take you to JS path. I'm trying to count how much money i would need monthly for all the transportation purposes. I'm not sure if it is cheaper to buy bus monthly passes and then Path smart link pass, instead of those port authority bus passes. How are Port Authority buses, are they super crowded? I'm trying to figure out what's more convenient. I wish Path monthly passes could be used on NJ buses as well. In New York we can buy one MetroCard and use it either for bus or subway services.
Multiple Jitnies and buses run to JSQ at all hours of the day. Can catch the WTC or Path straight back. The advantage of living in the heights, more commutable than pretty much any other city around that area.
I agree esp on Palisade ave and Fleet you can catch those white Jitney buses they run every 5 min to JSQ/Newport and charge $1.50 local
Another option is to take the 84 bus from Palisade ave to JSQ and back, if you travel DAILY 7 days than monthly pass worth it - otherwise stick with more convenient jitneys
