Let's see if I go to the bagel shop on route 20 near my house they are now charging $1.75 for a bagel with cream cheese. If I buy a bagel at Baskingers Cafe at my job, I pay $1 for a delicious bagel and I can take small containers of cream cheese for free.

I think .55 at Shoprite? I usually don't buy them around here though (once in awhile for my kids), I'm very picky (to my extreme detriment) and only buy from a few places that aren't nearby.

Wow...Shop Rite bagels are almost sacreligious (sp?) I am very picky also, when it comes to bagels. The bagel shop I mentioned in my previous post is called Muheisen's. They make great "hand-rolled" bagels. You can't find many good bagels shops in Northwest NJ. There is also another decent place in Hackettstown on Mountain Ave. called Bagels Abroad, no idea what the price is there.

different parts of the state make Bagels differently, that's for sure !

to me, a Bagel is supposed to have leavening in it, whereas in Morris County for example, all I find are unleavened bagels...

Wonder Bagel in North Bergen & Jersey City:
all varieties except wheat = 65¢
wheat = 75¢
with cream cheese = $1.75

I used to make bagels at a shop - hand rolled, wood oven...

I simply cannot eat ShopRite bagels. I guess I'm spoiled. Where on 31 in Washington is it? If you're going north, before or after 57? I haven't found a bagel shop since I moved

Just south of Rt. 57 on the southbound side. They also have great breakfast and deli sandwiches at great prices. The deli sandwiches cold or hot come with pickles and choice of side, potato or macaroni salad or cole slaw. YUMMM!

1.19 for a bagel where I work, 1.00 extra for cream cheese.

It's about 2.00-2.50 for a bagel with CC at my college.
