Hello,

Looking for a contractor or recommendations for a home energy audit in the Morris County area. I plan to switch from oil to gas and would like some information from people that have received rebates through the NJ Save Green Project. Did you feel a difference in the house after the work was done? Who did you end up using? Any information would be appreciated.

Thanks for your time.

We used US Energy Renovations out of Westfield (I think, we're in Cranford) and had a great experience. We save about 25-30% every month and the difference is definitely notable just with air sealing and more insulation (the house was gas when we arrived). Everything took about 3 days from start to finish and they were on time, on budget, and certainly walked us through every step of the NJ financing to get the 0% 10 year loan. We went through all of the improvements and talked over what was worth it compared to payback time and I did some of them prior to their arrival which saved us some additional money.

That said, friends in town have not received the same service, and it sounds like the owners aren't on top of their subcontractors as much as they were on our project. But they may be better about that now, it was a great process for us but the subs problem could happen to any contractor so ask about it no matter who you use.
