The one thing I found there really is no high end housing in Warren, I mean $1 million and over. There are some mountaintop estates in BS but that's about it. I like to see high end housing in a town before I buy.

There are plenty of "high end" homes out this way... thing is, they just won't cost you a million.
Like this beauty... listed for 524K!!! Bargain of the month in my opinion...6.10 acres!

I agree, I would only live by 80 again if I was working somewhere local. 78 is a dream in comparison. I love the Hampton/Asbury area.

Never! We have put too much money in here, we'll never get it back at this point. Have to wait a bit. Plus you don't get free sheets in "wileyville".

hello,
yes renting without a Realtor is a plus.we actually found the house we live in now on the Realtor.com and we pay $925 for the house now.and know we are paying more cause its threw a realtor.and on top of paying the $925 we pay every thing including water and sewer.so it would be a big plus not going threw a realtor.because i see many houses in washington that are $800-850 for almost exactly what we have now.
so i will def check that area out.do you know what the prices are for the houses.or how many bedrooms,or the address.
thanks for your help

I just past a 2 bdrm upper floor apt. on north main street - in the middle of town.. didn't see a cost for the rental but the sign is new... they must have just listed it (by owner). There's also a multi family unit next door...converted victorian up for sale. I would say going rate out this way is probably in the 800 range. I should have grabbed the number for you : ( If coming off of rt 78, it'll be on your left just before you hit the blinking light in the center of town. Off of rt 57... on your right just after the blinking light. If I head out again later, I'll see if I can read the tel number : )

Phillipsburg is a great area to live in NJ. Some people on here will make P-burg out to be Camden or Newark- it is FAR from it. While the immediate downtown area has some shady parts, keep in mind that the Phillipsburg post office serves a large area. Harmony, Greenwich, Lopatcong, and Pohatcong townships all use the Phillipsburg mailing address. Its a large area, and I'd say only 2% of the area is seriously undesirable.
I agree with Wiley, Stewartsville is a really nice area. Also look into Harmony Township, its got a P-burg mailing address but some parts send their kids to Belividere HS, which isn't too bad. Pohatcong is also very nice, and they have their own elementary schools.
Overall, its a great area (other than the damn stinkbugs!), and the people are more down to earth around here.

We have our own post office... that tiny little yellow shack on rt. 57 : )) A new building is ready but is being held up by soil conservation? Our mailing zip is for "Stewartsville". I agree with you though... most of Phillipsburg (barring some areas along south main street) are absolutley fine!

Doesn't some of Greenwich Township use the P-burg mailing address? I only ask because whenever I go to that Shoprite or Home Depot over there on Route 22, the receipt says Phillipsburg, but the sign in the store says Greenwich Shoprite. Just curious....
I think Bloomsbury, which is in Hunterdon County, also goes to Phillipsburg HS. "Phillipsburg" is a large area, most of it is really nice.

Some areas around P'burg have a P'burg mailing address such as Harmony and Lopatcong. I believe Greenwich has a Stewartsville mailing address though.
