moving to South Jersey
I'm moving with my husband and 3 small kids to South Jersey. My husband will be working in offices in Vineland and Cape May. Looking for a place to live, accessible to both, with good schools. Any ideas?

Upper Township, Seaville, Beesley's Point...25 minutes to Cape May via the Garden State Parkway, about the same time using back roads to Vineland.
Upper Township school district is a very good one from elementary right through high school.
Good luck with your move!

Hi Jeb--If you check out my posts, you'll see all the turmoil my hubby and I have been having over our possible move to Egg Harbor Township. Anyway, EHT has a lot of new construction going on, so if you have some time, you can get a nice house, custom built with whatever upgrades you want, for a very reasonable price. Also, if you can't wait too long, there is no shortage of fairly new homes, with nice upgrades, that are also for sale. Just look at the site Realtor.com and you will find tons of inventory.
From my past visits there, EHT seems nice in that there is a lot of shopping, as well as easy and quick access to casinos and beaches. Good luck with your move!

Egg Harbor Twp has many nice newer neighborhoods, and it close to the area's main shopping district. It'll add time to DH's drive though as that area is about 45 minutes in the opposite direction from Vineland and Cape May.
There is new development in Millville, which is near Vineland. Depending on how often your DH will have to drive to Cape May, you could live near Vineland, so that is a close drive on those days and drive the one hour to Cape May on the other days. Without knowing DH's schedule, I don't know if this would work or not, just throwing an option out there!
Just go on the Google map page and check out the directions to Vineland and Cape May from any town you might be interested in. It'll give you an idea of whether or not a location makes sense for your DH's job.
Also - map directions to Vineland from Cape May. Follow the route and check out surrounding towns. There are some towns along the way that you DO NOT want to live in, others are great.
I'm still recommending Upper Township - low crime, great schools, cute family neighborhoods, comparitively low property taxes, many nice people. Not much in new development, but people have been buying the existing homes, remodeling into something really nice.

I agree, Upper Twp. is ideal-very short drive to great beaches (Ocean City, Strathmere, Sea Isle), good schools, and still has a nice rural feel to it.

Thanks for all of the great info., very helpful. I figured it would be at least a 45 min. commute for my husband to Cape May and Vineland from EHT. It looks like just about anywhere we live in S. Jersey, it will be at least 45 min. to either Vineland or Cape May. I did look into Millville, but wasn't sure about the schools. At least online, they didn't look at good as other districts, but I may be wrong. Thanks again for everyone's help.

if you are concerned about good schools, consider vineland, pittsgrove, or woodstown
