Thanks for the helping hand, guys. Just to let you know, we'll be neighbors very soon. And maybe our children might be classmates even. Kudos to all.

The one in Wynnefield. It's true what they said about "gut feel". Thursday last week, we were ready to make an offer on a house in Somerset Glen when we decided to take a look at the house once more and at the same time see some other houses around the area. Once we saw the one in Wynnefield, we already knew that this was the right place for us.

Very excellent post and responses, I am in contract for a townhouse in Wynnefield and I am so happy reading all the post about the area I was 2 minutes from calling the RA and telling her I am not going to go thru with this.

I too was lookingat properties at Society Hill but after 1 visit to wynnefeild I fell in love and

I work in NYC and I would like to know if there is a bus(express preferred that runs along Route 27 that will get me into nyc, if so where would I get that bus

Welcome to the neighbourhood (and to dxjt too).

There is an express run by Coach USA. It runs down 27 and then turns at Finnegans Lane to Route 1, Exit 9 it joins the NJ Turnpike after stopping to pick up and Two Tower Center. Make sure it is the express because the regular goes through New Brunswick and is much slower. You can park either in Franklin Town Center (little mall next to Middlebush/Sandhill) or the Post Office and take the bus from the stop. Parking in either location is free.

Thank you Anthony B, I feel confident as a first time home buyer I will be happy @ Wynnefield ......but I am a little confuse where can you actually get the bus along Route 27, the last time I was in NJ a bus stop a that was walking distance outside of Wynnefield.

I also found this useful information:

[SIZE=-1]Local transportation:
  • Bus to New York : Schedules Coach USA. Choose origin as Franklin Park and Newark/NewYork Line 100 or Line 600 should do
  • Train-NJ Transit NJ transit website (see Northeast Corridor line for New Brunswick or Jersey Ave. stops)

Hey soon2bNJresi, just curious, if you don't mind me asking, did you get the one in B. Lane? Congrats!

I also considered the one in Society Hill before, but one of my main concern about the townhouses there is their sunken living/family room. I have a very active toddler and that design is very hazardous for him.

The TH in Somerset Glen boasts a garage and a semi-finished basement, but the odd living room layout and the small bedrooms were our concerns.

The Wynnefield place got our attention once we opened the front door. Eventhough the place does not have a garage nor a basement, the wide open space got us to decide and choose the place. To compare, my son's bedroom here is bigger than the masters BR in Somerset Glen. But the large place comes with large costs. It has the property tax of Somerset Glen and the maintenance fee of Society Hill.

Congratulations again, neighbor.
