I'm a republican. but I must put foot in mouth as much as I don't like that Clinton person she has done NY good. But here in nh we lost 2 house members that have done our state awsome as well. unfortunetly in nh we have strait ticked voting and ppl that don't look at the issues. allas all the mass ppl that are coming here to get away from the taxes are turning my state into a taxachusettts state. Voting perty lines is not responsable at least in NJ the ppl vote with the issues.

Roger Davis is on a distinguished road
Default Voters are not stupid

The very large number of wealthy people in Someset Co. always vote Republican and Somerset is controlled by Republicans.
The very large number of not so wealthy people(middle class) who outnumber the wealthy usually split between Rep. and Dem.
The very poor who also outnumber the wealthy always vote (those that do vote) Democratic and their counties are controlled by Dems.

It is very simple the Republicans are outnumbered in the statewide elections and will always be defeated buy the Dems.
It has nothing to do with stupid people, it's all numbers.

Hasn't this been recently posted already? Does the same topic really need 2 threads?

Ira, I agree with your post however please don't include "me" in the "we". Some people actually say they voted Democratic just to balance or shift the balance of power. Well I'll say this, when I was in the booth yesterday I didn't push all the buttons in a row down party lines. To the people that did do that I say "how about voting for the person you feel will do the best job". I know that's a novel idea.

Sometimes a person has to vote for the lesser of two evils. It was too important to get the dems in the house and possibly the senate (which we did). Bush has run amok for far too long.

How do you equate looking to change the balance of power into the best person for the job. Like I said earlier. I will vote for the the person that will best serve our interest and not along party lines. I'm not saying all the democrats that were voted in are buffoons, and I'm not saying there aren't any incumbent republicans that are buffoons. What I'm saying is very clear. "I DON"T WANT ANY BUFFOONS REPRESENTING ME", regardless of what party their affiliated with.

Real decent people in politics?

LOL!

You have a choice of right wing socialists or left wing socialists.

If voting could accomplish changing that scenario, voting would be declared illegal.

Like I said, this was one of those times when, for me, voting party lines was my only option. The 'best' person may be voted in, but if they are in the minority party they will have absolutely no influence in congress, as we have seen in the past six years with all reps. Dems may as well not have even shown up! (of course neither of them did this past year, how many days were they in session? Out of 365 days, maybe 100? Nice job if you can get it! LOL Normally, voting for the best person, no matter which party, is the ideal way to go. But the reps refused to 'share'! There was little or no 'give and take', just vote with the prez or you're siding with the terrorists. Sickening.
