Anyone who boats in the southern Barnagat bay knows Tices shoal.
this area of the bay is a popular spot for anchoring and the ability to enter island beach state park and walk across to the beach.

This has always been considered entry as a "walk-in" which is free to all comers.
Otherwise entry is $6/$10 for an entire car at the main gate.

Well NJ has decided to continue to allow free access to walk-ins who enter at the main gate and walk the 2 mi or so to one of 2 the bathing beachs

But now they have announced that walk-in entry at Tices shoal (nicknamed Fisherman's cove) will cost boaters $3/person to access the beach across from there.
