Good towns to live in Union County, child with special needs (Scotch Plains: to buy, school district)

Criteria:

1. School district should have well developed Autism programs (towns having strong support network of teachers, parents, care takers & special ed resources is a plus).
2. Open to consider Public or Private school options (DS is on high-functioning mild to moderate scale of spectrum & starting kindergarten coming academic year)
3. I work in downtown Manhattan (WTC), so desired commute appx. 1hr 30min. Husband works in Warren,NJ.
4. Looking to buy a single family house, budget between $800k-900k

Any input, advice will be highly appreciated.

Cranford schools are great for special ed, specifically Hillside and the High School. Apparently, a lot of people move to Cranford, even from other nearby towns, because of special ed programs here.
