My kids always enjoyed Land Of Make Believe, and Space Farms too. I wouldn't consider either of them a vacation destination, but they're pleasant enough ways to spend a day, for not too high a price.

Dutch Wonderland is perfect for 4 yr olds. We have taken our kids there and they love it. If you end up going down to Lancaster, PA, I highly recommend staying at the Eden Resort. It's a great hotel and I would even say it's a destination upon itself. Kids would have a great time just staying at that hotel.

Are you referring to the Storybook Land in southern most NJ. Down by the shore (Hamilton Mall). I live about an hour away. Have not been there in about 10 years but it was always very clean and simple fun. Almost kind of magical on a sunny day. Great memories for me. But I don't think it would be worth a 3+ hour drive.

Hershey - I have never been there but I have heard many good things about Hershey. Quite a history there as well. That may be worth a 3 hour drive. There may be considerable more to do there than Storybook Land. Probably even good for an overnight stay. A lot of my friends thru the years have gone there.

Rye NY - Not sure that is on your list. When I lived in CT we went there many times. Maybe for an older kid but keep it in mind it the future. I have very fond memories of Rye. Just looked it up - They still have their Dragon Coaster. Not for little kids but when they get older. Gee, now I want to go...

If you're doing Storybook Land you're only about 30 mins from the Cape May Zoo which is a nice stop too.

I'm in same boat as you, OP. My kids are close to your age. I have almost 4 year old who will turn 4 in 3 weeks time and thinking of mini vacation as part of his birthday trip. Youngest is 16 months and wanted to do dutchland but i think for us, sesame place is more in line for our boys age.

next summer, we'll do dutchland and land of make believe. following summer or two summers later, we'll go hearshy park.
