Default New Brunswick.

Hi, I plan and hope to moving to New Brunswick soon. Is New Brunswick a good place to live? Is there better places to live around this area?

There are good places to live that have a New Brunswick address, but if you have to depend on children in schools, or safety, there are better communities just outside of New Brunswick. Much of New Brunswick is part of the Rutgers University campus sprawl (ie student housing + fraternities) and a good part of it is also a low-income, high crime area. Be careful of where you make your new home.

Depends on what your price range is. If you are looking in a $300K price range, New Brunwick probably is not for you since that will put you near college kids and or possibly in a bad area. If you have $500K you can live in a highrise right near all the shopping and restaurants. All depends on the cost factor.

If you are looking to be near the area, I would suggest East Brunswick, Edison, South Brunswick, Piscataway, etc. If you need schools, East Brunswick is it. If you need a train Edison or Metuchen works.

Hope this helps
