The place floods really bad. Saw it on the news for days after hurricane Irene. Wouldn't take a chance, plus, there's a lot of killings in the city.

Clifton is not walkable for the most part. It is a sprawling suburb, not a city !

But it is known as the City of Clifton! (Government-type-wise, anyway). Not really city-ish, just an overbuilt, crowded 'burb.

I do not "do" suburbia. Fairlawn has minimal public transportation, & prices are $$$, hawthorne--the same.

Wayne is horrible for an urban person, Pompton horrible. Remember, when one lives urban, difficult and unappealing to do suburbia. Transportation/mobility is of the utmost importance to me. Philadelphia , my favorite city, has started another "gentrification situation, prices are "thru the roof" and ugly 14 x 48 ft. is the average row house. Do you realize how small that is ?? I KNOW REAL ESTATE !!
Am considering Collingswood, NJ, a compromise.

but thanks for your suggestion.

How about Passaic?

Everyone is rooting for Paterson to make, but from afar.

The absolutely absurd part of this thread is the fact that, in October, 2016, Neleh decided to resurrect a thread that had gone dormant a little more than 5 years previously. Then, in April, 2017, Neleh decided to return to this old thread in order to respond to auntieannie, who posted her comment/question in August, 2011.

Subsequently, a couple of other people decided to glom onto this necro-thread that should have been allowed to stay dead and buried long ago.

That is pretty amusing. So is the fact that in 2011, she was being forced out of Paterson but it's now 2017 and she apparently is still looking for a new place.

Hmmm...perhaps she should be posting in a forum for the homeless...
