Anyone know of a good way to commute from Mt Olive to NYC? Looking to possibly move there.

personally, i wouldn't do it. my husband did it for awhile and it grows old REAL quick. he drove to the rockaway mall and took the bus from there to the PA. his office was in times square so his walk wasn't bad at all. if you're working in another part of town you need to add subway/bus as well.

bus ride was about 1 hr to the PA, driving to rockaway was about 20 minutes. this is assuming average traffic. all bets are off in inclement weather or if there's an accident on 80/46/3.

This is a scary commute. Either drive Route 80/46 and sit in traffic or take the bus to Port Authority out Route 80 and sit in traffic. This commute is nothing short of a nightmare, traffic starts around 6 am eastbound and at night, doesn't let up westbound until after 7 pm. It is unfortunate because Mt. Olive is a nice area. There is also the train, but I am not too familiar with it. Fairly certain you can pick it up in Netcong, not sure how many stops or how long it takes or even where it lets you off. Maybe someone else has more info.

A new---just opened this week---rail station has come to Mt. Arlington, roughly 10 minute ride from Mt. Olive. Move to Mt Olive, you must be looking at Morris Chase?!?

I just looked at Morris Chase. It is beautiful, but far out of my price range. I have a few houses in mind already, it was just the commute that worried me.

Try to stay near by Route 80. We live in Country Oaks and there are two choices to to to NYC.

Netcong Station to Change in Dover and then to City or Downtown.

Mt. Arlington is best choice right now. I heard that in near future all Trains that stops in Dover will move to Mt. Arlington.

Commute on 206 his horrible specailly 206 South in morning.

I can be slow. But it is not as bad as rt 80. It will take appx. 35-45 min to get to Bridgewater from Mt.Olive.
