Actually it was on fios news, (I believe in December 2016) that Newark is becoming safer.

There's a Newark Light Rail station there now.

How is violent crime in the Ironbound today compared to 5 or 6 years ago?

There are about 55,000 residents in the Ironbound. YTD we have had 1 murder which was a project housing shooting.

You have your cell phone thefts and mugging a that occur every few weeks. Mostly happen around 2-5am.
