I'm curious to know what type of animals roam freely in around New Jersey. I don't mean animals like raccoon. Deer seem to be the most common animal.

There are several different animals. Deer, as you said the most common. There are also coyote, fox, bear, and some have said lions and cougars up near the mountains.

I live in Burlington County - deer and fox are ones that I have personally seen.

Default Sussex Cty

I have family in Glenwood NJ Route 565 and there are plenty of black bears roaming around up there, one day there was a Mama bear and her cubs in the driveway, needless to say everyone stayed in the house for awhile, but they did get out and take pictures. One time a black bear came up on the deck of the house, garbage was left outside and he banged on the back door.

They have seen lots of deer and foxes..........a beautiful place to live, who needs to go to Space Farms, you have all the animals you'd ever need to see in your own backyard.

Bears (saw) raccoon (saw) deer (almost ran over) coyote (wish I ran over) bobcats (heard).

Workmate says he heard a growl just like a cougar in the movies coming from bushes near where he was camping. He decided against investigating.

We have a lot of wild turkeys, rabbits, Canadian geese, and way too many deer.
