Have to go down there next week for one night to visit a client. Anyone have any experience with the Star Lux? Yeah, Wildwood in January...where will they send me next?!?

If work is paying, I think the StarLux or the Pan American Hotel - Welcome are the way to go.! We go every year, and ratchet up the cheese factor and stay at the Waikiki - Ocean Front Inn which is a few blocks from the Star and PA. |

Not a bad place, you're average motel. We used to stay at two different ones down there, but I think they are gone now and have condos in their place.
For the past 10+summers and a few winters, we've stayed at the Monetego Bay 'Resort' in North Wildwood. (I beleive 17th street?) It's beach front, always a great view. 'Recently' added Indoor pool and hot tub. And as for Wildwood's motel standards fits in there with the rest of them. Have never had a problem. All rooms are efficiencies. I'm assuming you picked the Star Lux because of it's vicinity to the convention center. I'd say prob less then a 10min drive from Montego bay. (In the summer we either walk to it on the bwalk or take the tram, but much to cold now, lol) Not sure what's open in the winter, but if you need any resturant suggestions ask! |

Thanks guys! I actually am expecting a Denny's or McDonalds open...and that's it. I got a room at the Starlux for 50 dollars which isn't bad since the company is paying for it.

Hoboken Guy, 50 bucks, thats all they would pay? Sounds like a job transfer for you on the horizon. If the company is paying live large. I always go to the Yankee games with my brother because he takes me to the company box seats as his client. Sometimes when one of the big bosses are there he talks business to me. What the heck do I know about foreign exchange and currencies. I don't even know about pesos if there pennies, dollars,or quarters. Good luck with the trip as the ocean water temp should be about 33 degrees. Can't wait for our PBA polar bear plunge down there.

This trip they are being cheap but most of the time they let me fly first class, rent luxury cars and put me up at primo hotels. They went cheapo on me this time because I am just a few hours away from home. Ah well, I can tough it out. PBC? You're more of a man than I am!

Wow, the Starlux is a fun hotel! My only gripe is the terrible water pressure and the 5 parking spots available. Other than that, it's a clean place.

It was a damn ghost town! Had dinner at some deli last night L&AP or something like that, and was at Morey's Piers all day today visiting clients. That is one fun place in the summer.
The water temp was frigid! |
