I'm so shocked that the states with the lowest property taxes are also welfare states, while the states with the highest property taxes are donor states.

NJ is a donor state. NJ is ranked #1 as least dependent on Federal aid.

NJ - $.48 return for every $1 sent to Washington
IL - $.45
NH - $.89
CT - $1.04
WI - $1.79
TX - $.79
NE - $.41
MI - $.89
VT - $1.06
RI - $.75

So the only real "welfare state" on that list is WI if you're looking at strictly dollars in/dollars out (I don't count CT or VT as they're near parity), but even then they're ranked #18 out of 50 for least dependent on Federal aid.

NJ governorship was purchased by 1%r and bossom buddy of obama, Jon corzine. Between Obama's stimulus plan and shovel ready jobs and JC, economic guru extroidinaire, Nj's financial house is now in order and all infrastructure needs repaired!! Yaaahh, thank you obama and JC!

Dems now crying the infrastructure is falling, have upstaged the horrible lane closure CC is said to have caused by blocking traffic and condeming bridges that have had a yearly assessment for decades. Dems hold the state taxpayers hostage and use blackmail and theatrics to extract more tax money.

If any NJ pol claims that money will be dedicated, call them a liar and make sure they don't get re-elected. NJ constitution allows dedicated funds to go into the general fund at discretion of the legislators.

That is part of the reason NJ is #1 and will continue to reign as the center of excellence for sheep shearing and polical hack retirement funds.

Any other news from ten years ago you want to bring us? Buy Google at $85? Distance yourself from Jack Abramoff if you can? Take Pittsburgh in the Super Bowl?

Corzine hasn't been in office for five years.

Corzine's short Governorship left a lifetime of problems behind for NJ. He did a similar thing to the investors of MF Global where he was only at the helm a short time. He's a wrecking ball that guy.
