Question Commute from NYC/Queens to Iselin NJ

Hi all. I'm quite new here. Just wondering to those who are already familiar to the area -- what's the best way to commute from NYC/Queens area to Iselin NJ? I am looking at riding the train or bus but cheapest is preferred. Kindly advise. Also - is there a website where I can get directions on how to commute between places? Thanks all.

This would be a fairly unpleasant commute - first you'd have to go from wherever you are in Queens to Penn Station. Then from Penn Station to NJ. Or go to Port Authority and then take a bus.

Okay... Im thinking of riding the bus as its cheaper. Once I get to Port Authority, which bus should I ride to and where should I get off? I am going to Wood Ave South. Please advise. From where I get off, is it a fairly walkable distance to Wood ave south?

I'd advise you to go to New Jersey Transit - Home and look at the bus schedule to see which bus to take and where it stops. Most likely, they'll stop at the Metropark train station, which is at Wood Ave. From there, depending on where on Wood Ave you're trying to get to, it could be a very short walk, or a very looonnngg walk.........

FWIW- if it was me, I'd spend the extra few dollars and take the train- far less painful and well worth the money.

Definitely take the train to Metropark. I used to see people walking to Metropark from the companies located on Wood Ave. Depending on the time, the train to Metropark from Newark is usually express. Good luck. I used to go the opposite way from Metropark to NYC and that's one commute I don't miss.
