I'm taking my wife out on a date this weekend and wanted to bring her to the boardwalk to Asbury Park to let her see some of the redevelopment. Can anyone recommend a good restaurant to take her to while we are there? I'm trying to spoil her a bit, we have a 7 week old and she's been home with him, etc, so looking for somewhere great to take her for an evening out! Can anyone give recommendations?

Sorta have to agree with APV guy. Stroll up and down the boardwalk, then get in your car and drive north to Long Branch. Just follow the Yellow Brick Road (A/K/A Ocean Ave.)

Good luck!

Asbury Park would be nice to get something to eat, but not in the winter time. Wait till spring or summer dude, the place is a ghost town in cold weather. Once it gets warm out you will see a lot of people out on the boardwalks again.

Moonstruck, right on the lake in Asbury park just next door to Ocean Grove. In the summer you can't get in without a reservation. I would even call first this time of year, the place is fantastic.

You've definitely gotten some great advice - Rumrunner at Pier Village is very nice - overlooks the water (which is nice even in the winter) there are shops & a boardwalk there. Also spring lake is real nice & you are likely to get in given it is off season. They are w/in reasonable proximity to Asbury Park too so you can go there first or last also...

There are many great restaurants in the area to choose from. We eat at La Nona Piancone in Bradley Beach (Main St.) often and have always been served a great meal.
