What was the hooker man ?
HOOKER MAN!!! OMG! I still can't drive through some of those tunnels through Byram/Stanhope at night, for fear of seeing "Hooker Man" at the other end of the tunnel! That was especially scary during foggy nights!

To add another Jersey-ism: My husband never calls his mother "mom"...he says: "Hey MAH."

OMG! Okay I know this is weird but my brother and I both say Mah! Unless we are talking about her to each other then she is called: Mommy.

Shanny: "Did you call mommy today?"

Shanny's brother: "I talked to mommy today and she said..."

That would be Jungle Habitat. Turtle Back Zoo is still operating, but can't be driven through.

Jungle Habitat..that's the one : ) Our big day out when we were kids. I can't help but wonder how many of these Jersey'isms are actually Brooklyn'isms? I meet so many people here who's parents or grand parents originated from Brooklyn - mine did. Anyone else?

I still remember not too long ago being a snot nosed 20sumthin, standing on the sidewalk with my best friend. Out of the corner of my eye I spotted the Mister Softee truck. It was like a Visa commercial. She was sipping her soda as I yelled "Hey Lisa, here comes your boyfriend"
and pointed towards the truck. People around us stopped to look....

Mister Softee Cone $5.00
New sunglasses $25.00
Soda squirting from your best friends nose=Priceless
