New Jersey definatley has different ism's and accents depending on what part you are from. for examapl - I originally came from Ringwood and we called the night before halloween, "goosy night" and when we moved south..ok closer to Rt 80 : )), they called it "mischief night"... how posh I thought : )) Any other deviations?

Tahiti,
How funny! I Tried to give you reps, but I guess I gotta spread some more reps around before they'll let me give ya more, LOL!
Not for Nuthin'....Oh my God, I worked with this girl and she would say this probably 95% of the time regardless of what the sentence was.
Not for nuthin' but that pizza sucked!
Not for nuthin' but that pizza was great!
Not for nuthin' but who would date her?
Not for nuthin, blah, blah. blah, blah!
EEEk! I'm still cringing and I haven't seen this girl in about 12-13 years.
Oh well, I'll deal with it as long as I get my PORK-ROLL, egg and cheese!

Shannaybannany-I think she works with me now. LOL.
And UKOK-it's "freakin'"-no g's in jersey.
I don't know if this is Jersey or just my grandmother, but Brunzick. She used to work in New Brunzik, lives in East Brunzik, etc.
And the emphatic, SHUT-UP...used as a term of amazement, not to tell somebody to be quiet.

A noogee was when you took a knuckle and rubbed it into another persons skull.
We would "hock a loogie"...not me, personally.
This is the first that I have ever heard of "goosey night". IN Hudson county, as well in Ocean County right now, it is called "Mischief Night".

Do you remember...
Flatleaver? I'm 43 years old! <---Just for reference
I grew up in Highlands and when the city kids would come down for the season, I would love hanging out with them because they had better toys, more fun stuff to eat and at 8 or 9 years of age, the other Highlands kids would call me a flat-leaver because I would hang out with my "new" friends.
It could be just a Highlands thing as Kevin Smith used that term in "Dogma".
