i agree with flyonpa. if the delivery guy is going out of the way for you, sure go ahead and tip. If its a dump and go in the front, i get him at christmas, but thats it. i'm not going to tip the mailman everyday, but I'll get him at Christmas.

On the other hand, if you have more money than you know what to do with, go ahead and tip away. The delivery guy isn't making much money, so go for it. Make sure he's not the owner obviously. i hate to say that because the business owner should be paying the laborer more instead of telling his employee to expect tips from the customer, but it seems to be the norm these days.

I deliver firewood. NO. No tip.


Just pay the fee and call them back if the wood is good.


No point in a tip when you are already paying for their services which include time, labor, delivery, and courtesy.


But of course there's no law against it and you will be remembered. Someone once tried to tip me, I refused it. Found the extra money in the truck... I bought a tarp with that money then I dropped off the tarp for him next day. Basically he bought his own tarp. lol But I figure I return the nice gesture.
