North Caldwell - Come in please
I've written a few times on here recently.
My husband and I are house hunting. We saw two homes this weekend that we are considering making an offer on.
1 in Cedar Grove and 1 in North Caldwell.
It is my opinion that North Caldwell is a nicer town, and thus worth the extra $25,000 for the house there. Does anyone agree or disagree?
For anyone on here who actually lives in North Caldwell or near it.....???? Is the jail still operational there??? I know its still there but I was told its closed. Do you know what the plans are for the space???? I'm curious to know about any local rumors circulating on this.
Thanks!!!

N Caldwell Taxes ??
I also found out that N Caldwell just finished getting reassessed. I was able to find the new # and what the new taxes for 2007 would have been with the new reassessment. BUT, I understand that I can't find out what the actual 2008 taxes will be until the town passes the 2008 budget in April.
If anyone knows anything about this, please chime in too.
Thanks.

The new tax rate for North Caldwell will be approximately 1.502 for every 100 assessed. so look at the new assessment, divide by 100 then multiply by 1.502 and that will be your new assessment. North Caldwell is a wonderful small community.

The only thing I know about North Caldwell is Sophia's Ristorante (pretty good Italian) on Main Street.

Both towns border one another. I'd look at TAXES. CG has some industry should be lower.

Sister lives in N. Caldwell. A great town with lots of families. Lots of mixed smaller homes and large estate type homes. And yes their taxes just went up. But didn't everyones? Besides Tony Soprano doesn't live there anymore, haha!
