I am looking to get some insight from anyone familiar with the education system in NJ regarding the Financial Literacy requirement.

As a quick background: I am currently 26 years old and have been in the accounting industry for almost 5 years now. I have undergraduate and Masters degrees in accounting and I am a CPA. Teaching has always been something I wanted to do, but I opted to chase a career with the larger financial upside and excellent employment opportunities. After 5 years, I've decided to change direction and pursue something I would actually enjoy.

I've done some initial research but was hoping to get some inside information. Since this is a fairly new requirement, are there likely to be a good number of schools looking to fill Finance positions? Are most or all of these positions full-time like a math or science teacher would be? Is there a pay differential in either direction compared to the normal math/science/English/history teacher? Would they even consider someone my age or are they looking for candidates with much more experience in the finance industry?

I understand that I will need to get an education degree, pass the praxis, etc. I am looking more for information on my questions above. But I could also use some insight on the "alternate route" education program that NJ offers as well since my degrees are not in education.
