I agree with Rubies77, NJ has some beautiful areas that some NYers have never been too, I think its cozier, now places like Newark and Paterson give the state a bad name, but Bergen county is awesome and ride up toward upstate NY is awesome, I have many friends in NY and NJ that love both places.

Stressed mover you can email me at dad245@nau.edu if you need further info. I was also considering moving to Northern Va where you are coming from? lol Northern Va is lovely, why are you leaving there? You have DC there too.

Monmouth county is awesome where the beach begins farther south than that would be too far, middletown is awesome, hazlet, wall, etc If you want to be near NYC i grew up in North Bergen not so nice anymore, but right over the George Washington Bridge is very nice fort lee and so many other small towns.

Now i am considering leaving florida and going back same as you NY or NJ is on my mind, maybe Long Island, but NY is very expensive, I would live in Jersey and commute unless you luck out and find a place there.

This thread is historical evidence that people have been arguing over NJ vs. NY for at least eight years. Amazing!

Next, we will have the typical 8 year old child's argument/debate...Which are better, cats or dogs?
