Moving to Jersey
Hello,
I am going to be relocating to northern New Jersey in the next month or so. I am starting to look for housing, and am looking for some recomendations.
First off, I will be making mid 40's and am single, so i am looking to stay in the 1000-1200 a month range for an apartment.
I am working in Wayne, and need to be within a 40 minute commute to my office.
I don't have kids or anything, so schools aren't important to me, but I do need a safe community with low crime, and hopefully a somewhat suburban feel.
Any suggestions?

mid 40's is a good start for a single guy : )) If your going to be working in Wayne, I would start there. It is a nice area and for the most part, very suburban. If the rents are too high, I would head north on 23 toward sussex county. You may want to try some areas in Butler as well.

Best bet is to lower your rent you want to pay. Making mid 40's after taxes and if you have any sort of 401K will give you a take home pay between $1200-$1400. 1/2 you take home on rent + bills.
I am sure you will able to find a decent place for around $800.

Cedar Grove has some apt complexes and it's near Wayne, and also close to Montclair which I think you'd like for entertainment. You might even be lucky and find a rental there in your range. Good luck!
