When it comes to Somerset County, you'd be hard pressed to find a bad neighborhood. Maybe the inner core section of Somerville has a few shady streets, but other than that, I can't think of anything.

Parts of Bound Brook.

And the part of Franklin that's adjacent to New Brunswick.

I don't think the part of Franklin adjacent to New Brunswick is bad at all. When your driving down Easton Ave, you can tell when you have left Franklin and entering New Brunswick.

I voted for Morris which is where I live and work now. I like the communities, the people, the proximity for NY, for work at times and for pleasure..I like the mix of some open space with a lot of cute downtown areas like in Madison, Chatham and Denville.

I like Somerset and parts of Union county too...we are looking to buy a house soon and I love Cranford and it's downtown area.

I grew up in Middlesex and still have a lot of ties there -- you can't beat it's location as far as being in the center of the action -- close to every highway, and not that far from the beach. Would be in my top 5.

Isn't Voorhees in Burlington County? I agree though on the jerky white folks,it may be a tight race for Cherry Hill

Default Best County in NJ

I'd go with Bergen over all. Bergen has nice neighborhoods and excellent towns with a lot of things to do and tons of restaurants.
