Agree. Do not consider Irvington.

Check out Woodbridge. Easy access to EWR, lots of apartment complexes, not a fancy area, but safe.

Also are you just looking for a place that has a night life, or just a place to live? I'm just assuming you're younger, but each town in North jersey is very demographically different by age and race.

Also getting a apartment on a 1k budget is doable, but limits options. Its very common in North jersey for people to have roomates, if that's an option.

Stupid comment. I have three United flight attendants that live above me. White as can be...from Idaho and Georgia. They enjoy living here. There are three pilots that live on my street.

For the record the Ironbound is a majority Portuguese community, so get your facts straight. Should the poster not live in Woodbridge because there are too many Indians?

Most flight attendants split a 3 bedroom...ends up being $600-$650/pp.

You made my point. If Ironbound is mostly Portuguese what would make it so appealing to someone from Nashville?

Why would NJ be appealing to someone from Nashville?

How about the fact that she can get to work in 5 minutes and find an apartment I a reasonable priced community that had some of the best restaurants, you can get to NYC in 20 minutes and you can get cheap meals anywhere?

She said she was fine of travelling up to an hour from Newark Airport. There's parking issues in Ironbound, not to mention the proximity to Newark (which you want to avoid at all costs).
