I used to live off of Evesham Rd. in Voorhees. It's pronounced EVE sham. If you're ever in Evesham Township you don't ever have to worry about using that name because it's called Marlton . . . or Marlt'n.
Gloucester City, Township or County . . . it's all GLOH ster.
In Delaware people pronounce it new-ARK. I've always pronounced the city in NJ as NEW-erk. Older people in my family say Nork but that's b/c they're from JC.
Manasquan is MAN uh skwan. I heard some guy on the news say "muh NAS kwin". I recently heard a Philly newscaster recently say "manna LAP in" instead of muh NAL a pin.
No self respecting New Jerseyan says "TREN-ton". That's just ridiculous.
WHen i lived in NC I used to get made fun of for saying AHR inge. I still make fun of my friends down there for pronouncing Mary, merry and marry exactly the same. And for pronouncing "cherry" like "chairy" stuff drives me nuts.
I can't thank all of "yous guys" enough for the warm fuzzies I got from reading every word of this entire thread. I lived in "nork" till I was 13 then moved across the river to Kar-nee. I've since lived in Maryland then most recently moved to North Carolina. I go to Jersey for a few weeks each summer to visit my brother and was just in "nork" and Kearny to bury my dad. Since then, I've been lurking on this site and have had the fondest memories of Jersey. This thread has just had me laughing out loud. Thanks, again and I hope you dont mind if I check in every once and a while.

How about Piscataway? I think I remember John Gambling on WOR 710AM saying it like Pis-kuh-TAH-way. We Jersey folks know it is supposed to sound like Pis-CAT-away. I guess that could easily get butchered if you were from another state.
Actually his pronunciation IS CORRECT as it is a name of a Native American Indian Chief. However in this day and age, everyone says it the way you say.
Not Sa - cau -cau as the new residents try. Or SA - co -co.
