What event are you going there for? For certain events(football games) there is a train that goes there. So you should be able to take a train to New York Penn and then over to the stadium. I assume there is some line that can get you from syracuse to NY penn.

No. We plan on driving. But is there somewher we can leave our car, like at a train station, and then have the train take us to the game? We are going to saturdays football game.

If you dont want to drive all the way you could, say if you came down the NY Thruway then got on NJ 17, there is a large train station right off NJ 17 just into NJ a mile or two in Mahwah, NJ, take that train to Secaucus Junction and the local train from Secaucus to the stadium that only runs near game or concert schedules.

Check:

It will add some time but maybe you are looking for that

Unless you're planning to drink a lot I would say it's easier to just drive directly to the game. Parking is expensive, but probably won't cost you any more than a couple train tickets and parking at the train station (I assume you're not traveling alone).
