Moving from Cape May NJ area to Clearwater, Fl area in mid Oct. Looking for movers is proving to be more difficult than expected, due to reviews, bad and good; stories about large additional fees added on, etc. Does anyone have knowledge of Pioneer Moving Group out of Bergen, NJ; Impress Moving and Storage NYS, Atlantic Coast Moving and Storage (National Van Lines); or Simonik Moving and Storage (Allied Van Lines)? They all have DOT #s but I'm not so sure that carries a lot of weight. One company seems to have only 1 truck, but I can't confirm. It's tough to really pin down solid info. Or can anyone suggest a company? Thanks

We used Simonik when moving from NJ to NC.
They gave us a computer generated in home estimate on the spot. The price as estimated was the exact amount we paid.
The same crew who loaded us in NJ was the same crew that unpacked us in NC.

Nothing broken or missing.
I don't know how I could give a better review.
As a matter of fact I spoke with Allied a couple hours ago and Simonik is going to schedule an in home estimate this coming week. I'm much more comfortable with in home, as opposed to the over the phone which I know will surely grow come unload time. Your endorsement is reassuring, thank you.
We used Wade Odell Wade (United Van Lines) out of Midland Park, NJ to move from Wyckoff to Florida last year. They gave the lowest pound estimate with a bound quote (ie. they won't charge you if their estimator screws up the weight estimate). We got 4 estimates and they varied from 7,000 to 12,000 pounds, 2 bound and 2 unbound. We didn't want to take the risk of getting hit with any overages so we went with the 7,000 pound bound quote from Wade Odell Wade.
No complaints here. They did damage a dining room table but they promptly cut us a check for $800 to replace. We didn't like the old one anyway so it worked out.

Thank you, I just wonder if they'd travel from one end of the state to the other to do a quote. Or if they have estimators in various areas?

Not sure, may want to give them a call. They have 43' trucks and typically jam 4-5 homes in there before heading down south. Could be worth your while. It's really amazing how much stuff they pack in there.

Btw, it was $6,400 all in @ 7,000 pounds including packing, taxes etc (4BR, 2Bath house).
