I am currently collecting unemployment. I may have the opportunity to take a temporary job that will last 5 weeks.

Do I continue to call in to claim benefits and simply answer their questions honestly e.g. "Yes, I have worked" etc. and when I am back to unemployed status, again answer appropriately and continue to claim benefits?

Or, do I need to suspend the claim and reopen it when I am back to unemployed status? The job will pay hourly and am not certain if it will be a 40hr work week or less.

In the event I need to suspend/reopen the claim, will my benefit still be based on my original pay, or will it now be at the rate that I was paid for the 5 week temp job?

Appreciate any insight that can be given!
