Asking about upstate NY towns, you'd get better response from a NY section of these forums. Just click on US Forums up above and chooses whichever one is closest.

When you go upstate its also more about available jobs I think too. Also there are many places, almost everywhere else in NJ nicer than Joint City.

Yes, both of those cities have winter weather that you are sure to enjoy.
I urge you to move to either Syracuse or Buffalo.

Syracuse is the snowiest city in the US. Buffalo is the cloudiest city in the US. Have fun!

I would have guessed that Buffalo got more snow.

I thought so too, but Buffalo is 93 inches and Syracuse 116!

Buffalo has that lake effect snow. I knew that Syracuse usually gets more snow, but I forget why. Something to do with the wind patterns. And as for all the major cities up on the great lakes - Buffalo, Cleveland, Toledo, Detroit, Chicago, Milwaukee - I know some of them like Detroit and Toledo don't get the amount of lake effect snow that Buffalo and Cleveland do.

Upstate NY is beautiful though. The only thing that keeps me from moving up there would be how cold it gets.
