Wow - I don't think I know where any of those "bad" surrounding areas are.

Mtown - you have any more info on the Lenola revitalization? I'd be interested to read any info on it. The gym I go to is in Lenola.
Thanx

JoeSo - Have you actually BEEN to the area recently? Aside from Camden, South Jersey is very safe and nice.

You get what you pay for because uptight rich people tend to cluster together.
Like I said, I could have lived out there, but didn't feel like being crampped in a sub 1000 square foot house over in Lenola waiting for that development to come along (that likely won't) so I could see a return on my investment.
I got into a 2200 sq ft house for 200 grand 3 years ago in Cinnaminson, and other than the main street, which I'm about 2 minutes from, and 2 minutes from Riverton's main street all that other stuff exists here.

I'm not saying it's not a desirable town, there's just more 'undesirables' in the nearby south Jersey towns than there are in Hillsborough
And yes I have been there lately,I'm currently living just across the Betsy Ross bridge in Philly but I prefer to spend most of my time in south Jersey and do get around there alot.
Let's see, some of the 'less-than-stellar' towns near Moorestown...route 73 in Mt.Laurel, anywhere west of route 130,and of course most of Philadelphia
I'm just comparing to when I used to live up near Hillsborough,I just felt alot safer.

Article on the recently released revitalization plan for downtown and Lenola:
M'town's 'vision' of future gets mixed review (phillyBurbs.com) | Burlington County Times
The Lenola design recommendation calls for about 955,400 square feet of new buildings and uses, including 494 housing units. It also calls for more than 336,000 square feet of parks and open space in the center of Lenola and about 278,700 square feet of commercial space.

Cinnaminson has a main st?
As for the question at hand. I live in Hillsborough and my sister teaches in Moorestown.
Hillsborough is an outer suburb of New York and Moorestown is a somewhat inner suburb of Philadelphia. Hillsborough is slightly less expensive (new Toll brothers houses here are priced at 800k and up) and also has a bit more of a countryside feel than Moorestown. Both have good schools, different areas and feel though. Oh, and Hillsborough does not currently have a downtown (although one will be built when the 206 bypass is completed).

No Cinnaminson doesn't. I should have made it more clear.
"Except for the main street". I'm about 2 minutes from Moorestown's main street, that I don't go to. LOL. And about 2 minutes from Riverton' and Palmyra's main street which I sometimes go to.
I'll betcha 90% of the stuff in that article will never happen, because of the "high density" word. The upper crust doesn't want to rub elbows with the riff raff. LOL.

Inner suburb of Phila, that's another way to put it. It is closer to Philly than Hillsboro is to NY.
So there'll actually be a downtown in Hillsborough? This I gotta see
Will that mean less highways?

anywhere west of route 130,

Maybe points south of route 73, but going north nothing ever happens in Riverton Palmyra and Cinnaminson, Riverside is shady, Delran is decent, Delanco is decent, Edgewater Park is decent and Beverly is shady.
