Default Kearny, Jersey City and Union City

These are all in Hudson County right? How are these areas? Any advice? We are looking to buy some homes in this location. How are the taxes and the area? Are the schools good? Are the areas nice? Any advice is helpful. Thanks!

Hey Lockandkey... you still searching : )))) Of those, I would avoid Jersey City. Kearny is well know for having large Scottish and now Portugues (sp?) communities. The closer you are to NYC, the higher the crime rate. Sounds like you are looking for a particular "house" not town as you have been kind of all over NJ in here. Maybe if you could give me some ideas as to what it is that attracts you to certain areas, maybe I can help. Old homes - victorian style? Suburban, Rural, City life?

metro1026 is on a distinguished road
Kearny = high taxes, big drug problem, some nice areas though
Union City - very urban, high crime, bad schools
JC - very urban, high crime, bad schools

Def. not the best places to live in Hudson County, although each of those towns have decent areas (especially JC) and horrible areas (especially JC, but also Kearny, with all the crap from Newark coming across the bridge)
