Health Insurance - Looking For ......something Reasonable?
Currently We Are Paying 1100.00 Per Mos For Medical Insurance For A Family Of 5 (prevailing Wage Worker). Wondering If Anyone Out There Has Any Idea For A More Reasonable Rate.....it's A Ppo I Believe Through Bcbs......any Help Would Be Great.

Changing from a PPO to HMO will save you a couple of dollars - also raising your deductible will also lower your payment. Is this through your employer or are you paying direct?

Good luck with that. I looked at various plans up there several times when I considered going into self-employment, and the options were limited. BCBS had one of the least expensive options, so you may be at about the minimum you're going to find already.

I'm self employed and we have BCBS HMO - it runs me around 300.00/month for a single policy. I pay the full whack for my employees - they deserve it.

Ouch! That's alot for you to have to contribute through your employer - does he/she pay anything toward your premiums? Perhaps he/she hasn't tried the small group plan route??? If he/she isn't they need to let their health ins. agent know that they are eligible - just need two employees or two eligible members to get the group discount. what about the NJ kids ins. plan thing? Or is that just in NYC???
