Annandale to Morristown - commute ok?
Hi All,
We are house hunting and looking at the Annadale/Clinton areas. I work in Morristown and OH works from home but commutes a couple of times a month to both New York and Philli.
Does anyone know what the commute is like between Annandale and Morristown? Are 78 & 287 a zoo?
I was doing the commute from Berkeley Hts to Morristown via 78/24 and that became old fast (parking lot). Just wondering if I am in for the same?!
Thanks in advance for any insight anyone can give.

It really depends on what time you are travelling. I commute from Warren County (north of Rt. 57) to Morristown and it takes me about an hour, I leave no later than 6:15. I would think it should take about 40-45 from Annandale.

The route from Berkeley Hts to Morristown does not cross 78/24!!! I commuted from Chatham Boro to Morris Plains for 20 years and only took about 35 minutes to 1 hour (snow)! (Back roads)
Traffic EAST (78) from Annandale in morning is bumper/bumper and WEST for the return commute! 287 is bad both directions! You can also go back roads (513?), but take about 35-45 minutes. 78->202 or 206. My choice would be Berkeley Hgts.

Calm down! The preverbial word is 'was' going 78 to 24 until I discovered the back roads.
Thanks for the input re 78 and 287. That's what I thought.

Respectfully disagree....timing is everything, I get on Rt. 78 eastbound in Clinton at about 6:40 am and travel to Rt. 287 north, it takes 15 minutes, I have only seen bumper to bumper traffic at that hour once, due to a multi-vehicle accident. I make it to Morristown by 7:15. On the return side, I leave Morristown at 3:30 and get home in about 55 minutes....never any traffic at that hour.
