I currently live in Oradell and am planning to move to either of the following places: Denville, Montville or Pequannock, NJ. My main focus is to be able to provide my children with a strong educational foundation and a similar quality life to the one that they have now. One important factor though, I work in NYC. I kindly ask of your suggestions since I feel a bit overwhelmed.

I'd say go with Pequannock, good schools, if you commute by bus, one comes right down the main drag. Also close to train station. Just avoid the flood areas. I didn't grow up there, but know people who have. One thing that impresses me about the town is people who did grow up there move back to raise there own families.
Hello! I am currently in the process of closing on a house in Denville for the same reasons as you. I also commute to the city and the denville train is very accessible and easy(thinking of buying a golf cart to ride to the train station). Denville is up and coming with a great community. 99% of people will not have anything bad to say about denville besides some areas flood. There is a quick solution to that answer, don't buy a house in a flood zone, duh.

The schools will all be pretty similar. Mostly white, suburban, middle/upper class schools.
At an AP level, Montville will be a little better, but that is not going to determine anything in your child's life.
Or has Morris County changed so much since I've been there.
Not that Pequannock is better. Between those two, Denville.
It has a walkable downtown, restaurants, easy access to 287, 80, 10, and 46, bars, Morristown is less then 10 minutes away, great property taxes (in comparison), good schools, train station to NYC and bus routes, if you're are lucky you can live in a lake community and enjoy those benefits. The problem with Denville is people never leave because they enjoy the community so it's not as transient as other places.
