I will be commuting to New Brunswick and my husband will be working in Lincroft. He is okay with having a longer commute. We are looking for a nice quaint area with a decent commute, great for families, diverse and safe. Our daughter will be in elementary school, so a good elementary school option is ideal. Our budget is in the low $2K for renting (3bedroom). Thank you

Red Bank is a nice quaint area. Not sure of availability in your price range; might need to aim further inland, like around Marlboro.

Thank you HalfFull, but I didn't see much for that price range in Red Bank and Marlboro. Any other towns come to mind?

Do you need to live on an NJ Transit train line to get to/from work?

Some towns that come to mind are Manalapan and East Brunswick, but I believe that you would need to drive.

Maybe Highland Park? Small town right next to New Brunswick.

That's a lot closer to Lincroft than New Brunswick, though. She's looking for the opposite.

No, we don't need to be close to the Transit Line because we will both be driving so access to public transportation is not necessary. Thank you

Yeh Red bank is a bit far to New Brunswick. My husband has to commute to Lincroft but is open to a longer commute than I am. Also, Red Bank is also pricey, I haven't seen anything available in that price range
