Which township is safer, more affordable? Which township is more accessible?

Not comparable in any way.

woodbridge twnshp is safe across all towns.

Woodbridge is safe. Montclair is within striking distance of places that aren't safe. Woodbridge not inthe center of the dense northeast NJ population centers.

Woodbridge area has access to all major roads but not overwhelmed by high speed roads. That area is the gem of Nj in terms of access to areas north south west and NYC of course, of course.

They are both generally safe but Montclair is a much better town. There is no comparison.

They are very different towns with very different vibes.

Woodbridge is a diverse middle class township made up of many different smaller municipalities, each with their own vibe.

Montclair is an upper middle class town where homes are extremely expensive. It's more active than Woodbridge with a bustling downtown and a pretty active arts scene. Woodbridge is more of just your typical American working class suburbia.

Montclair is probably a "better" town but Woodbridge is a lot more affordable and more centrally located so it all comes down to what you are looking for and what you can spend.

I agree with all posts on this thread so far. Two completely different townships. Overall Woodbridge is a safer town without shady areas surrounding the township. In contrast, Montclair is adjacent to shady areas like the Oranges, Bloomfield, and parts of Clifton. Woodbridge is connected by route 1-9, Parkway, Turnpike, and 440 which becomes 287 at some point within the township. Montclair does not have that kind accessibility. Woodbridge has the NorthEast Corridor and the Jersey Coast line running through the Township; where as Montclair has only the Montclair-Booton line. Woodbridge is under going a revitalization process; whereas Montclair is very hip or trendy and a lot more active....and with that is a lot more expensive. Woodbridge is the oldest township in the State; Montclair is your average town in terms of Historical legacy. Montclair is a Upper-class; where as Woodbridge is blue collar......
