Hi,
Thanks for reading this post. I am looking for a very decent town to raise my 3 yr old and 1 yr old and am looking for advice on where I can get the best combination of the following: 1) Access to NJ Transit so that I can take the train to the city. 2) Excellent schools ( I am willing to commute so that my kids get a great education) - I am willing to consider towns with excellent private Christian schools. 3) Crime free/ family friendly neighborhood. We are ready to pay a rent of upto $1800 - $2000 for a 2 bedroom apt/townhouse etc. Thanks in advance!! |

Try looking into Cranford and Westfield, ( Union County ) I know of a few rental properties close to train station that may work for you. Hunterdon County is also an excellent choice, the commute may be a little longer.

Well, if you are not in a hurry, we'll be renting out our 4 bedroom, 2 bath single family home in Cranford, NJ
Positives about the home: - close to entrance of GSP (exit 136) - 3 minute walk to a school (up to grade 8) - walking distance to train stations and express buses (about 15-20 minute walk) - tennis courts 5 minute walking distnace away - swimming pool, gym, and track about 10 minute walking distance away - public library and recreation center about 15 minute walking distance away Positives about Cranford - Cranford has one of the top public school programs in NJ - Cranford is rated one of the top towns in NJ in several surveys... New Jersey Monthly (njmonthly.com) - There are several Catholic (and probably other religious) schools. For example, St. Michael's near the church. - Has train station where trains go to NYC via Newark - It has an express bus that goes to NYC next to the train station - It is very safe and family oriented:Moderator cut: link to a competitors site removed - Cranford is only 15 minutes driving distance from Newark Liberty Irport - It is about 20-30 minutes driving distnace from NYC via Holland Tunnel Last edited by Yac; 04-07-2008 at 07:43 AM. |
