I know how the title comes off but I'm not a racist however it doesn't make sense that there would be so many minorities in a park in an overwhelmingly white area. Hunterdon county is very white. Do whites try to avoid this park because there are so many Latinos and African Americans? I want to know.

Its right off I78 so its easy to get to.

For visitors from the Urban part of the state East of the Park it a fast trip from Cement parks, and hot cities. Entrance fees are cheap, $10/Carload Its Clean, Well Maintained.

Hunterdon county residents have grass back yards, swimming pool, local parks etc. They don't need to go to the State Park for its amenities.

Does anything good ever come after "I'm not a racist. however..."?

Yup, confirmed poster's history of "evolved" thinking in past posts.

Every single person and animal in this universe and the next is racist,,, we all play the "I'm not a racist" card,,, and many of us are not, it's just a natural question.

Yep to this

I haven't been to Spruce Run but I've seen this at a lot of state parks within driving distance of NYC

+1
Those of us who have nice homes with well-manicured yards--complete with a gas or charcoal grill and other amenities--don't need to go to a public park--be it of the state, county, or municipal variety. The folks who gather at parks for family festivities are almost always urban or suburban apartment dwellers who lack their own amenities. And, that reality often means that minorities are well-represented in those parks.

I'll tell ya, I'm impressed with some of the gatherings I see at Darlington, which we go to about once a year.

Big family groups, someone manning the charcoal grill, coolers loaded up with food. They set up shop all day and really enjoy the place. Which is great, good for them!
