My son is a mechanic. He can do that anywhere. He can't just move to a new area and expect to find a good job, but he'd find something.

It's been too long since I've updated this thread. Too busy with the house, the holidays, work, etc... This was a nice way to kick off the opening day of Six Day Firearm this morning:

In other news, congrats to North Hunterdon Football on their first State Championship since 1975 with a win against Phillipsburg!

We also won the annual Milk Can Game this past November:

I never saw this thread the first time around. Wonderful pictures!

Warren County resident here. I've been in Warren County for almost 22 years. I love it here although my commute sucks and there aren't too many good places to eat, I still wouldn't trade it.

Swamp

Did you have 1000's of migrations of birds this fall. One thing I do miss not living in Washington it was an amazing site to see the sky turn black from all of the birds moving across the sky. In particular the white snow geese just amazing all the noise they made. Do not miss the deer jumping in front of cars my wife hit 3 in 16 years going over the mountain to work into Hunterdon once when the new car had 100 miles on it!

The only thing I've seen over there in great numbers is crows. It looked like that scene from The Birds.

Got to take care of the animals in this cold weather. Our barn cats are feral, which makes them great mousers, but they won't come to anyone, much less come inside. Luckily our neighbor had plenty of straw bales to spare, so we built these straw bale shelters in the back of the barn which, with a cloth door over the opening, should make for a nice cozy place to sleep. I just hope they're not too stubborn to use them-one of them is definitely at least part Maine Coon as he has a ringtail about as thick as a Louisville Slugger and looks like a small bobcat:

Is herding chickens like herding cats?
Itís basically the same but the milking process is slightly different.
