We were house hunting today and we were looking in Wiltons Corner. Now some nice bargains can be found but unfortunately those bargains will not work because Wiltons Corner is located in Winslow Township which has one of the crappiest school systems in the area. One of the realtors was telling us to look a couple blocks over because that part of Sicklerville was in Gloucester County and not Camden County. Is this right? Can somebody verify this or please explain what she meant. It didn't seem right to us. How could one town be in two counties ? She told us to look around the corner in a development called Wyn Oak or something similar.

I think your realtor probably told you that the other part of Sicklerville was in Gloucester TOWNSHIP not county. Sicklerville isn't actually a town - its just the name of an area. Pieces of Sicklerville are in both Winslow Twp and Gloucester Twp. However, both townships are in Camden County.

OK, Now I got it it. I thought Sicklerville was a town, not an area

Thank you for that clarification.

Default Wiltons Corner

One of the Realtors told you to look but didn't show you? Is she the one you're working with? If you need one to show you around, message me and I can help you (I work that area). Anyway, she was talking about Wye Oak in Gloucester Twp. Right now there are a few hundred houses on the market in that whole area (Winslow Twp. & Gloucester Twp.), but you do need to know the area to know which houses are in which school districts if you are not from the area.

Thats not true. Sicklerville is a post office basically. Because Ariel (town)doesn't have its own post office so they have the "address" sicklerville. They are camden county. Washington Township (gloucester county) does not have its own post office so they use MANY different post offices giving residents many different town names. Inside washington township, you will find Turnersville, blackwoood (which are both blackwood post office..... YET blackwood IS camden county), Sewell, and sicklerville on the same side sicklerville is on. YET just because you are "sicklerville address" IF its inside Washington Township, you ARE Gloucester county, but the town sicklerville including their post office IS camden county.

So, yes you can have the address of a town, but it depends what actual town you are in for which county or school system. I grew up my entire life in Wash Twp, taxes and everything else are gloucester county but it always got mixed up because of the town being blackwood which is camden county.

Default Better get a radon test too

I can't speak to your specific question but if your looking in that general area I would suggest having your home inspector do a radon test when you purchase. I've been a radon specialist for 20 years and I mitigate a lot of homes around there for excessive radon levels. Mike
