Default Madison park in Old Bridge. Good area?

Hi,
My Fiancee Works in South Plainfield and I work in New Brunswick. We were looking in the Matawan/Aberdeen area for a place to live with a spending limit of a house brought at 300K. We weren;t able to find anything reasonable, so we looked over in Old Bridge and found a decent ranch in Madison Park. Is this area safe? I see it is a mixed community and I come from Carteret, so that doesn't bother me. But I can't get crime info on the area and people I talk to seem to think its not a good area. Please help!

Please don't take this reply the wrong way. Madison Park is a very diverse community with many apartment buildings. It is among the least desirable part of Old Bridge, which typically is a decent town. In comparison to the areas which you mentioned. It is no worse nor is it any better. You can actually get statistics on Madison via this website. If you go to Stats about all US cities - real estate, relocation info, maps, race, income, photos, education, crime, weather, houses, etc. and select New Jersey, then do a search on Townships (Old Bridge Township) Madison Park will be in red bold lettering. It will give you information on that part of the township specifically. Good Luck!
