I have to travel to Parsippany from Princeton and back everyday. I have tried Route 206 and 287 combination during 8 - 9 a.m. and again in the evening during 5:30 - 6:00 p.m. It is horrible commute - almost 2 hours one way.

Anyone can suggest better routes? Very much appreciated.

I'm not sure that this alternate route would be a whole lot quicker, but I would suggest that you try taking Route 27 North, into Franklin Township. Then, there are a couple of possible routes on local roads that would take you to I-287.

A good smart phone-based sat. nav. program like Waze would indicate the best route to get from Rt. 27 to I-287. Don't use Google Maps unless you want to be taken on a roundabout route that might not even lead you to your destination.

That might be one of the worst commutes in the state.

Still, I had a similar commute from Morris County to Middlesex County and it wasn't as bad as that.

The key is to leave at non-peak times. If you cannot do that, I suggest you change jobs or homes.

I did that in the reverse direction for about a year or two.

I would go down the least traveled road, along the canal from 287 to/from the Princeton area.
So going South I would come down 287, off at Weston Canal then follow either the road along the Millstone River or the other side of the river and canal, almost never any traffic. Watch out for deer this time of year most everywhere. Depends on your location in/around Princeton, some alt's there such as Griggstown, etc.

Can't get there from here

Seriously though, that is just a bad commute. I'm sorry

There is literally a road missing in that area. I don't know where, but I know it's missing

Along the River,,, Millstone River would be my choice. I've done that run daily years ago.
