NJ Residents and Retirees cannot afford higher property taxes. Why would you vote in someone who said he will? Do you think anything good will come from becoming a Sanctuary state ? Retirees get ready as more of your pension check and SS pays for taxes and free stuff.

NJ literally just lowered taxes on retirement income a year ago, phased in over four years.

Yes I know but will the higher property tax(and it coming) make up the difference now?

I'm afraid imho that's just a "warm-up"!

Be very afraid of what Murphy didn't say in campaigning, who knows what other costly ideas he has in mind imo.

Plus does anyone want to reside in the 1st sanctuary state and all the negatives that come along with it?

We both know that Murphy was campaigning on NJEA's support; he wasn't going to realistically toss that away a month before the election. His claims aren't mathematically possible and I think he's smart enough to know it. There isn't enough income in this state to tax to pay for the pension. Let's give it a little bit and see where he actually comes in. Arbitration cap could still be in play.

Between funding the illegals, the NJEA and the like the pensions will not get totally funded under his watch imo unless he imposes lets say a annual motor vehicle tax like some other states do. I put nothing past him to potentially enact laws/things that most likely will have legislative approval costing LEGAL working NJ residents much more money. What Murphy wants he'll most probably get and that's the scary part.

I think it is pretty safe to say. As we learned from Corzine, when the person negotiating public workers contracts for the people, is not on the side of the people, but on the side of the people he is supposed to be “negotiating” against, town budgets go up, not down.

Of course, Corzine was literally in bed with the union leaders, while Murphy is only figuratively in bed with them. (As far as we know)

Seniors can freeze their property taxes so I don't think they will increase at all except for high income seniors.
